Emergency care is the treatment of emergent medical conditions. It is generally performed in an emergency room, but can also refer to treatment in an ambulance. Emergency medicine physicians may treat patients with injuries or infections, in addition to life-threatening conditions.

At Regional Medical Center, we provide emergency care that serves you. Our emergency room (ER) is open 24/7, includes 43 treatment beds and is designed to facilitate fast, efficient care while maximizing comfort, privacy and safety.
Our board-certified emergency medicine doctors and emergency-trained nurses provide quick assessments and effective treatment for patients of all ages. We provide around-the-clock emergency care for a wide array of illnesses and injuries requiring immediate medical attention, including:
- Chest pain
- Concussion or head injury
- Heart attack
- Stroke
- Severe stomach pain
- Trouble breathing

Heart attack treatment
At Regional Medical Center, we have the technology, highly trained medical staff, expert cardiac catheterization laboratory staff and specialty physicians to rapidly diagnose and treat heart attack patients.
Stroke treatment
Stroke is a serious medical emergency requiring immediate medical attention. Early treatment can lead to higher survival rates and reduce brain damage and other complications.
Our emergency care doctors are ready 24/7 to respond and treat patients experiencing symptoms who may have symptoms of stroke. As a Thrombectomy-Capable Primary Stroke Center, we are recognized for our advanced care in the surgical removal of blood clots from the brain.

SAFE+ Program
The SAFE+ Program provides 24/7 access to resources, including sexual assault forensic exams (SAFE), commonly referred to as rape kits, at designated response locations throughout the region. Specially trained medical forensic healthcare professionals work with patient-survivors, 12 years or older, who have experienced various forms of sexual assault or violence:
- Sexual assault
- Rape
- Domestic or intimate partner violence (DV/IPV)
- Physical and mental abuse
- Strangulation
- Sexual coercion
- Human trafficking
